AXEL ST. PATIENCE
Based in Brooklyn, Axel St. Patience is a witch-pop artist noted for his bewitching tenor vocals and experimentation with granular synthesis.
St. Patience uses live-looping and performance art to fuse the dark aesthetics and sound design of witch house with the high-spirited energy of indie pop. Gems & Secrets wrote that St. Patience makes "...music to make you dance, and lyrics to make you cry," and that pretty much says it all.
In 2017, Axel St. Patience released his first single, "Day-Drunk Daydreams," which quickly became popular amongst a niche group of synthophiles in the Austin and San Antonio, TX, areas. As his follow-up sophomore venture, St. Patience collaborated with Chicago-based producer, Matt Dougherty, on his Spotify hit-singles, “Kill Me with Your Touch” and “Inferno" which gained him a small but enthusiastic fanbase. Next, featuring the hyperpop stylings of St. Louis-based producer, Rouleaux, “Pearls & Peroxide” gave listeners from across the globe a taste of St. Patience's bittersweet musicality twinged with a hint of silver-screen nostalgia. Now, in 2021, St. Patience is debuting his new witch-pop sound which builds on (and exceeds) facets of his earlier works.
